****THIRD CONTROL PANEL****
(M) MOVE
On the picture screen, left mouse-click next to a corner of the
item you wish to move, and pull the selector rectangle around the
item. The item becomes a movable block. When you have taken it
to its new location, click the mouse and it will be fixed into
place. An empty space is left at the item's former location.
(C) COPY
As for Move, except that the item is duplicated rather than cut
out, so the original location still looks the same.
CLIP
An area selected on the picture screen (same method as for Move
and Copy) is copied into a memory buffer and kept there till the
program ends or another area is copied in to replace it. The
picture is not altered.
PASTE
The Clip is copied onto the picture screen, it need not be onto
the screen from which the Clip was taken. Mouse-click to paste
the item into place. Clip and Paste is the way to transfer data
between the five picture screens in Happy-Paint; an entire picture
can be duplicated in this way. When a Picture or an Object loads
into the program it always comes in 'Replace' graphic mode, but a
Clip & Paste operation obeys the graphic mode currently selected.
MAGNIFIER
There is only one fixed zoom ratio. On the zoom-screen, the left
side shows the picture at normal size, but half-obscured; to view
the other half press the left or right arrow-keys on your keyboard.
Click on the box-frame at the top left of the normal-sized picture
and drag it over the area you wish to see in the zoomed section of
the screen. Editing this area is a matter of left-click = black
square, right click = white square. You can reverse the colour of
the zoomed area by clicking on the black/white icon. That can at
times make editing easier, but don't forget to reverse the colours
again before moving to another zoomed area or returning to the
normal picture screen.
ENLARGE/REDUCE
Click on the icon and a control box appears. Set the degree of
enlargement or reduction required on the X and Y axis. Click on
OK, and pull selector-rectangle around the area or object to be
enlarged/reduced. A copy of the area, altered, soon appears as a
movable block, which can be click-fixed into location as desired.
TILE
Takes a (selector-rectangle) defined area of the picture and
multiply copies it all over the screen as though it was a tile.
ROTATE
Set the required angle, click on OK, and select the area to be
rotated. The copy of this block, rotated, can be fixed into place
anywhere in the picture.
BLACK/WHITE
Switches the colour of the selected area.
